Finding an Online Myanmar Language Instructor

Finding an online Myanmar language instructor isn’t easy. You would think that as Myanmar opens up that there would be a wealth of options for learning the Burmese language online. But many Myanmar citizens don’t even own a computer and they aren’t familiar with video programs like Skype or Zoom. As a result, it’s difficult to find good online Myanmar language instructors. Luckily, there are just a few of us out there who speak English fluently and who understand live video technologies well enough to teach Myanmar online.

Teaching a language through technologies like Zoom or Skype takes a special touch. Patience is extremely important. It takes time for students to learn how to pronounce words in the Myanmar language and the tones also require a lot of practice. Repetition is a key feature in Burmese language lessons that are effective and that actually result in learning and the ability to speak in real-world situations.

While there are very few Myanmar language instructors online who also speak English fluently and who work with students patiently, the ones who have established an online presence do a good job overall. Of course, it’s always wise to do a trial lesson or two to make sure the language instructor and the student make a good fit. Then, students can commit to classes for a longer period of time.
